Shake & Holla will feature foot-stomping Mississippi "hill country" blues and the funky, syncopated sounds of New Orleans brass. Touring together for the first time, the Grammy-nominated and Blues Music Award-winning North Mississippi All-Stars will be joined by the legendary Rebirth Brass Band in a musical celebration of two great southern musical traditions. Steeped deeply in their own traditions, both artists also are part of the vanguard of blues and soul music.

Grammy-nominated blues guitarist, vocalist, and drummer Cedric Burnside, provides the icing to the cake for this collaboration. Grandson of legendary Fat Possum recording artist RL Burnside, he will weave in and out of this special evening as these artists play their own favorite selections and collaborate on a grab bag of songs that explore the musical connection between the Mississippi Delta and Bourbon Street...right down Highway 61.

“New Orleans horns, raw and funky… exhilarating and full throttle.” - New York Times.

“Cedric Burnside's set at Lizotte's was like opening Pandora's box on the blues; out flew some music so rare, so soulful, so close to the bones it would make you shiver if you first heard back where it came from, the hill country of north Mississippi.” – New Castle Herald
