Fellow Pynins is an award winning contemporary folk duo with a keen and bucolic sense of vocal harmony and song craft. One of opera’s most beloved works receives its first new Met staging in 19 years—a daring vision by renowned English director Simon McBurney that The Wall Street Journal declared “the best production I’ve ever witnessed of Mozart’s opera.” Nathalie Stutzmann conducts the Met Orchestra, with the pit raised to make the musicians visible to the audience and allow interaction with the cast. In his Met-debut staging, McBurney lets loose a volley of theatrical flourishes, incorporating projections, sound effects, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart’s fable. Do you enjoy being creative but aren't sure how to integrate more creativity in your life? Would you like to schedule some “me” time that includes relaxation and making things that matter to you? This series of creative retreats will activate your senses through Body Mind Centering, Authentic Movement, guided meditation, circle dancing, drawing, collage making, and writing. Each week will focus on a different theme: Introspection, Self-Care & Creativity, Boundaries, and Playfulness. Come to any or all (you must pre-register for any retreat). All female-identifying people are welcome. Please bring a journal and a yoga mat or blanket.

When Sarah Spletzer started her business, movementum, in 2015, she was inspired to give it a three word motto: Dance-Create-Share, as those are her three favorite things to do in this world. She has a special interest in the area where creating meets healing, where creating means not only learning a new skill but learning something new about yourself. After completing a BA in Fine Arts in 2009, she completed training as a Professional Artist in the Classroom and as a dance therapist. In Germany, the Netherlands, and the US, Sarah has facilitated creative classes and workshops for all ages, led public art projects, provided education programming at the National Museum of Fine Arts in the Netherlands, and helped organize the Weaving Well Being Festival in Vermont. She is a member of the Cabot Artisans Gallery.

Poets and poetry lovers are invited to gather monthly at Whirligig Brewing in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to share food and words at a Poetry Potluck hosted by the brewery and Catamount Arts, as part of PoemTown St. Johnsbury. Poetry Potlucks will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, with the first one on September 14 from 7-9pm. Each gathering is hosted by a local poet.
All are welcome to bring poems or prose of their own or of others to read, or just come to listen and share food and conversation with other poetry lovers. There is no obligation to bring food, but participants are welcome to do so.
“Poets gathering to share their words and a meal creates an incredible experience, helping to build and strengthen bonds within the communities in which we are creating our art,” said poet Jen Hudgens. Whirligig Brewing owner and brewer Geoffrey Sewake added, "Whirligig is excited to support the community and the Arts. Hosting a monthly Poetry Potluck on the second Wednesday of the month is a perfect way for us to create fun spaces for creativity and energy in our Northeast Kingdom community."
Whirligig Brewing is a small one barrel nano brewery and taproom located in downtown St Johnsbury, utilizing local and regional grain and hops in the majority of their beers. They brew a wide variety of beer styles, including IPAs, lagers and stouts, but specialize in sours and wild ales. Whirligig Brewing is proudly BIPOC-owned.

Catamount Arts will offer its popular EPIC Music Camps this summer at Grace Methodist Church, for students entering grades 4-12. New students are invited to learn violin, while current EPIC Music students may try a new instrument (first week only) or stick with their current instrument, and will serve as mentors for new students. Camp faculty will include Artistic Director Jason Bergman, Marshall Meade, and Roy MacNeil. Each week will include high quality music instruction, games and performance opportunities, and students will explore classical and traditional music in large and small ensembles. Mini classes for experienced players may include music theory, improvisation, composition, and string quartets.
Suggested tuition is $75 per child per week, with a 10% discount for siblings. We never want a family to make a difficult decision regarding their child’s enrichment, which is why we make generous tuition assistance available. An unequivocal musical prodigy, singer-saxophonist-songwriter-composer and band leader Grace Kelly has rocked the jazz world with sold-out concerts, 14 acclaimed albums and a resume that includes performing at the Hollywood Bowl and as part of the house band for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” —all before reaching her mid-twenties. Students will discover the many joys of plein air painting (painting outdoors) in this experiential class. The series will start indoors then move outside to paint from life using water soluble oil paints. Each session will include a demonstration painting on location for students to follow along, followed by painting on your own. Learning to be comfortable with the equipment and materials will make painting outdoors as pleasurable as a walk in the park! Students will be invited to display their work at St. Johnsbury’s Final Friday celebration on July 28.
Class fee: $120 ($108 for Catamount Arts members and high school students), plus a $50 materials fee (if you prefer to bring your own paints, brushes, canvases, etc., please let us know).

With a degree in fashion design and background as a dancer, Margaret Wiseheart Anderson has spent most of her professional career in the dance apparel industry and in designing costumes for professional theater and ballet companies. Primarily a self-taught artist, Margaret developed her skills as a landscape oil painter by painting from life. Co-coordinator of the Peace Valley Plein Air Painters for several years, she also founded a figurative study studio group in Pennsylvania, The Artist Collective #12. Now living in Vermont, Margaret is thrilled to explore the beauty of the Northeast Kingdom through paint, and to shape the next phase of her life as an artist.

Working outside the confines of the traditional music industry, Adam Ezra and his bandmates – Corinna Smith (fiddle), Alex Martin (drums), Poche Ponce (bass) - built a community of fans through sheer grit and determination, regularly performing hundreds of shows a year for the past two decades without any major label or mainstream radio support. Fusing folk intimacy and rock energy with soul power and pop charm, the band first emerged from Boston in the early 2000s and quickly garnered widespread acclaim for their bold, insightful songwriting and interactive, euphoric performances. From hole in the wall bars and house concerts to sold-out headline shows and dates with the likes of Little Big Town, The Wallflowers, Gavin DeGraw, Train, and The Wailers, Ezra and his bandmates treated every single gig like their last, attracting a die-hard following that believed not just in the music, but in their commitment to activism and social change, as well.
After their tour was cancelled at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ezra brought the show online to continue this commitment and created The Gathering Series which to-date has reached a cumulative audience of 15 million viewers. The band's ongoing daily livestreams since March of 2020 stands as a testament not only to Ezra’s artistic endurance, but also his ability to connect with viewers and provide an accepting and supportive space for newcomers to join his tight-knit community of fans. Through his own experience with COVID, his move across the country, and even his wedding day, Ezra has broadcasted without fail from wherever he found himself each night at 7pm Eastern. In addition to bringing The Gathering Series to the real world as they performed nearly 50 safe, socially distanced shows in parks and backyards around the United States to bring light to fans through music, the band didn’t stop there. Their homegrown festival, The Ramble, hosted by RallySound, raises money and marshals resources to help homeless veterans find safe and dignified housing for the last ten years. While the band was unable to bring the festival to fans live in the year of COVID, they instead incorporated it into The Gathering Series and hosted a 24-hour, nonstop livestream where they raised enough money to help house 64 veterans.
The Adam Ezra Group hit their 500th Live stream show on July 25th, 2021. They have also played an additional 50 backyard socially distanced shows and are starting to tour heavily again in traditional and outdoor venues. As if this wasn’t enough to keep them busy, the band also embarked on an ambitious new recording series dubbed ‘The Album Project’ which will see the band releasing at least 19 new singles over the next few years. What comes next for the Adam Ezra Group? The future is anyone’s guess right now, and the only thing the Adam Ezra Group knows for sure is they’ll be out there making music however and whenever they can.

Austin-based artist Mobley grew up all over the world, from the Spanish Mediterranean to the California coast. Perhaps it’s because of this itinerant childhood that he finds it so hard to sit still. Mobley does it all: he's a songwriter, producer, visual artist, filmmaker, and a charismatic frontman with a reputation for kinetic live shows. He’s composed dozens of pieces for stage and television (HBO, FOX, NBC, ESPN, CW) and played hundreds of US and international tour dates (with the likes of Phantogram, JUNGLE, Cold War Kids, and James Blake, and at festivals including Lollapalooza, ACL, Voodoo, and Hangout).
With his trademark cinematic sweep, the songsmith (and record producer/filmmaker/writer) has delivered a new EP, Cry Havoc!, that carries forward the themes of power, alienation, and dissent that have animated his work to-date. But where 2021’s Young & Dying in the Occident Supreme refracted these ideas through surreal spaghetti-western soundscapes and guitar-driven psych rock, Cry Havoc! introduces a retro-futuristic world of seductively sinister melodies, distorted synths, jagged cuts, and propulsive rhythms.
What remains unchanged is Mobley’s penchant for pop songwriting — ear-worm melodies and hooks for days. He has a mad scientist’s need to experiment with the form’s limits: for half of the tracks Mobley wrote and recorded whole songs which he then dismantled and sampled to create a fresh, new sound. The result is a record that feels strange and familiar, dangerous and danceable. It evokes the dread curiosity of 70s sci-fi paperbacks. Indeed, they were among the inspirations for Cry Havoc!, which is itself a speculative fiction concept record that takes place in an alternate-past New York and the catastrophic far future that awaits.
The story follows an antihero whose failed heist attempt lands him in a secret time prison, trapped in suspended animation. What’s in store for the protagonist upon release, centuries in the future, is the subject of Mobley’s first full-length album, to come on the heels of this new EP.

Fox Royale make anthemic, jangly indie-rock that sparkles with the same energy as acts like Cage the Elephant and Vampire Weekend. Before they were in a rock band, the members of Fox Royale were in a traveling orchestra. The band was born when high school friends Nathan Hurley, Davis Drake, and Evan Todd along with Nathan’s younger brother Caleb began jamming in their parents' homes. Eventually, they started thinking, “Hey, let's try a little harder at this.” The band then began touring extensively for three years, eventually earning a stage in front of War Road music management, who gave them their first record deal.

In this weeklong 2D & 3D arts camp, students will use nature as inspiration when exploring a variety of messy mediums. Create larger-than-life acrylic paintings of local flora, splash watercolors on paper, create freestanding sculptures, and use clay, mud, and other natural materials to create sculptural forest palaces!

Lisa Wolfgang (she/her) is a queer, interdisciplinary artist who has been living in Vermont since 2016. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Expanded Media from Alfred University and holds a Certificate in Small Business Management from Northern Vermont University.
Lisa has witnessed the connective power of art experiences and believes that art can be a catalyst for building bridges toward a more sustainable and equitable future. While working in the nonprofit sector, she has been able to take an active role in her community - coordinating programs, curating exhibits, and facilitating events that continue the conversation of sustainability and equity. Christine Nockels (she/her) is the Youth Programs Assistant at Catamount Arts. Christine graduated with a degree in illustration and toy design from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and has working in animation and puppetry, as well as a freelance illustrator and fiber artist. She lives amongst many animals and plants and loves being close to nature in Vermont.

As Dan and Cynthia gather with their parents at Blueberry Point on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, they imagine the only thing that could possibly ruin their wedding day is some “local color” camped out on the rocks with his cooler of beer. But the ceremony is soon interrupted by Dex, a swimmer who claims to have seen Memphré, the legendary creature of the lake. Moreover, as a result of this encounter, Dex insists that he must immediately marry Cynthia or the world will be destroyed. Foundations are rattled and secrets are revealed in a comedy that asks just how far you’re willing to believe.

“I’ve loved these songs for as long as I can remember,” Taylor Ashton reflects. “Each one has taught me something about love, being alive, and co-existing with other humans on this crazy planet.”
When Ashton first moved to New York City several years ago from Canada, it was on the heels of a breakup and the end of his band Fish & Bird. He took up busking in subway tunnels to get by, armed with his banjo and a few dozen covers. “At the end of a night, I’d come home with a banjo case full of $1 bills,” Ashton writes. “I affectionately called these “Pizza Tickets” based on how often I spent them at one of New York’s many dollar slice joints.”
Hence the name of his striking new E.P. of covers, Pizza Tickets. Ashton has chosen seven beloved songs by Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Tom Waits, Alanis Morissette, and others, performed on his signature clawhammer banjo with gorgeously minimal folk-pop flourishes. Pizza Tickets is a prelude to a full-length album of originals, Stranger To The Feeling, that will be released in August of this year.

The LowDown Brass Band is a uniquely strong representation of Chicago Music culture. This talented all horn band leans heavily on dancehall and street beat rhythm, with the energy of conscious hip hop, jazz, reggae, and soul.
LowDown maintains a constant performing and touring schedule throughout the globe.
