Now in its 21st season, the North Country Community Band was founded by the late Robert B. Tobin in April 1997. Shortly after his death, Bob’s son Andrew took over as the band’s musical director. Andrew earned a Master’s Degree in Tuba Performance from Ithaca College and has completed coursework at both Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester. He currently serves as the band director at Groveton High School. Under Andrew’s direction, this group of talented, local musicians from all over the North Country gathers to rehearse from September through May in the White Mountains Regional High School Band Room at 7:00 pm. They enthusiastically share their time and talent with the community and St. Kieran Community Center for the Arts is honored to be on their list of scheduled performances. Additionally, if YOU might be thinking about dusting off that instrument, they are always seeking new members!
