Ethan Setiawan is a Boston-based mandolin player who has won such accolades as the National Mandolin Championship, the RockyGrass Mandolin Championship, and was the recipient of a full-ride scholarship to Berklee College of Music. His musical path wound its way through traditional bluegrass, Bach partitas and free jazz. His debut full-length album, made up of original tunes, draws these influences as well as from some of the pioneers of the current wave of bluegrass (Bela Fleck, Matt Flinner, David Grisman and Mike Marshall). The tunes were specifically written for a hand selected group of musicians. Ethan has shared the stage with a number of musicians; Julian Lage, Darrell Scott, Bryan Sutton, Mike Marshall, Tony Trischka and Darol Anger to name a few. He current shares his talent with groups such as the Mudskippers, Corner House, The Harmolodic String Band, and Theory Expats.
